DENTIST
Chris Pennisi, D.D.S.
Dr. Pennisi graduated in 2007 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry with highest distinction and honors and was also elected to the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor fraternity. Prior to that Dr. Pennisi worked in research in the Department of Physiology in the UNC School of Medicine and then in the pharmaceutical industry at GlaxoSmithKline. He was born and raised in Troy, New York and moved to Chapel Hill in 1995 to finish his undergraduate studies. He received his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1997.
Dr. Pennisi continues to integrate his research background in dentistry by following the methods, materials and technological advancements used in dentistry that have been proven through scientific research. He keeps abreast of the latest advancements by participating in more than four times the state required continuing education courses. Dr. Pennisi believes the optimal approach to patient care is through the application of these proven methods to the unique needs and desires of each patient. With this approach, stable, predictable and long lasting results can be obtained.
Dr. Pennisi is married to his wife Nori and they have 3 daughters. When he is not in the office, he enjoys woodworking, outdoor activities, spending time with his family and UNC sports. He is an active member of the Wake County Dental Society, North Carolina Dental Society and the American Dental Association. He is certified in Invisalign, Lumineers and implant placement and restoration (Implant Dentistry Continuum).
HYGIENISTS
Kim
Kim is originally from Wisconsin and moved to Raleigh in 1995. She received her Bachelors degree in Fitness Programming from Coker College. In 2008 she received her Associates degree in Dental Hygiene through Wake Tech.
Her love language is taking field trips to new places, while spending time with her husband and two daughters. Most people wouldn't know Kim played soccer in Europe and earned college credit at stunt school for movies. She enjoys hearing about her patients random activities or accomplishments even more. Kim is committed to providing gentle, quality care to all of her patients and looks forward to meeting you.

Tracy
Tracy graduated from Guildford Technical Community College in 1994 as a certified dental assistant. Tracy started working in Greensboro and in 1997 joined Dr. Smith’s dental office as a chair side assistant. Tracy is knowledgeable in many areas including taking radiographs, coronal polishing, taking impressions, and helping in other daily tasks in the office. Tracy and her husband Alan are the proud parents of their daughter Sydney. In her free time Tracy enjoys shopping, trips to the beach, and spending time with her family.
Pat
Pat graduated from the University of Bridgeport Fones Dental Hygiene School in Connecticut in 1981. While living in Connecticut Pat worked in the Public health field and designed/ developed a dental clinic at an Autistic and mutli handicap school. Pat and her family relocated to Garner in 1988 where she worked part-time as a dental hygienist. In 1997 Pat began working with Dr. Smith full time. Pat now resides near Sanford with her husband Rick and their dog Logan. She is a proud mother of two boys and a wonderful daughter-in-law. In her spare time she enjoys spending time at the beach, mountains, or relaxing by the lake. She thoroughly enjoys quilting, do it yourself projects, and spending time with her family.
